What is and what does Zapier do

Zapier is a no-code software that connects apps and automates repetitive manual tasks. With Zapier, you can create workflows that save you a lot of time. This leaves more time for what really matters.

Zapier can be applied to +3,000 apps and has been particularly useful in small to medium businesses.

What is a Zap

One Zap is a link between 2 apps, the trigger app and the action app. An event in the trigger app triggers the execution of an action in the action app.

There are single and multi-step zaps. A single zap is the coupling of 2 zaps. A multi-step (multi-step) zap links app1 with app2, app2 with app3, etc. This way, you get more complex automated workflows.

Example: Automating customer management

With Zapier, you can automate your customer management. The time-consuming repetitive tasks for storing or changing customer data in your database or sending all kinds of e-mails are automated by Zapier. After setting up the zaps, you don't have to put any more time into it.

Registering a new customer in your database

A new customer signs up to your website via a Contact Form. His data must be entered into your database, in the form of a Spreadsheet. Automate this with a zap.

ContactForm -> Zapier -> Spreadsheet

Automate mailing

Zapier automatic mail

You want to welcome all your new customers by email, wish your registered customers happy birthday by email exactly on date, send newsletters and promotions, notify about events, confirm a received question or complaint before receipt... Automate this with Zaps as well.

 Spreadsheet -> Zapier -> Mailchimp -> Customer

What can you do with Zapier?

A lot! You can create customized workflows with Zapier (we can help you with that). And remember, once the juice is created, everything happens automatically.

Examples:

  • Automatically share Instagram photos to Twitter, too.
  • Share Twitter posts with LinkedIn.
  • Add new tweets to your LinkedIn profile.
  • Automatically create tweets from new Instagram posts.
  • Automatically post new Facebook posts to other social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest).
  • Automatically store subscriber data (Entry forms) generated on your website or via various social media in a database (spreadsheet or CRM).
  • Send new YouTube videos in a channel to a Facebook page.
  • Tweet new videos in a YouTube channel.
  • Upload new Google Drive videos to a YouTube channel.
  • Save mail attachments to Google Drive or Dropbox.
  • Copy data from one storage device to another (hard drive, Google Drive, Dropbox...).
  • Convert CVS files to a spreadsheet or vice versa.
  • Send personal messages based on your customer database.
  • Send personal messages based on your customer database.
  • Share important announcements simultaneously on multiple social media.
  • Convert CVS files to a spreadsheet. A CVS file is a comma-separated file without further formatting, a text file actually.

And much more..

Creating a Zap is easy

Of course, the first thing to do is to register with https://zapier.com.

Creating a zap always follows one and the same procedure. If you can make one zap, you can make any zap.

Send a welcome to a new subscriber/customer

  1. Open the Zapier dashboard and activate the button MAKE A JUICE.
  2. Do you choose Trigger app: Excel database.
  3. Suggest a Trigger in: New row in Excel with a new subscriber's data.
  4. Choose one Action app: for example, “Mailchimp”.
  5. Say which Action it must happen: “send an email”.

For each zap, the procedure is the same each time. Only the apps, trigger, and action differ.
