What is Webflow?

Webflow is a modern 'no-code' platform for building customized professional websites. At a lower cost, you get equivalent, if not better, results than with fully manually coded sites. Thanks to the automatically generated “clean code”, Webflow sites perform better in Google. In addition, the site owner can edit, add, and remove content themselves. By connecting to Zapier, time-consuming repetitive tasks can be automated fairly easily. This frees up more time for the important tasks.

So you don't need to be able to program Basic. If you can code in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, this opens up a range of almost limitless possibilities. That is why Webflow can also be catalogued as a low-code platform.

Webflow belongs in the list of CMS website builders: Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, Weebly, Squarespace... CMS is the abbreviation for Content Management System.

Some systems can be downloaded and used free of charge. For Webflow, you pay a modest sum. It's SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) that is offered online in the cloud. You don't buy a software license but pay a monthly or annual subscription.

Why Webflow?

1. Modern versus craft

It's good to say: “I program websites all by myself in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP...”. And indeed, that is quite an art and requires thorough knowledge of the necessary programming languages. All admiration for that.

On the other hand, the impression is given that using low- or no-code platforms is for amateurs and provides inferior results. Nothing could be further from the truth! The current phenomenon of low- and no-code platforms is definitely modern technology that provides at least as good results.

Craft is beautiful and admirable. Modern technology is more efficient and flexible, both for the developer and for the customer. For a smaller price, you get results that are at least equivalent.

2. Benefits for the customer (website owner)

As mentioned above, as a website owner, you have a modest subscription fee. But it more than pays for the costs of development, maintenance and adjustments.

For a small price, you get a number of benefits:

  • Webflow is a complete platform that integrates forms, marketing tools, backups, and more without an avalanche of plugins.
  • Updates are installed automatically.
  • Websites built in Webflow load and respond much faster to Google. This is because Webflow automatically generates “clean code”. This is code that closely matches what good coders write. For the others, the generated code is more messy, resulting in slower responding sites.
  • Starting with a blank canvas is as easy, if not easier, as starting with a template. Starting with a blank canvas provides complete freedom in design and encourages creativity. This results in a more unique website with its own look. The others usually start with a template that is adjusted in terms of color and content. For them, starting with a blank canvas is more time-consuming and therefore more expensive.
  • Additions or changes to content (text, photos) are fairly simple. The website owner can do this himself and thus avoids additional costs.

Zapier integration

You can connect your Webflow account to Zapier. This makes it possible to exchange and manipulate data between more than 3000+ web applications (APIs). This opens up unprecedented opportunities for storing, managing and analyzing data, conducting targeted marketing campaigns, analyzing and controlling production processes and much more. And most importantly, you can save a lot of time by automating recurring activities.

Zapier

Decree

34% of all websites on the Internet are built with Wordpress. Wordpress is free software and is widely used to date. However, it is our finding that Webflow is a more modern, efficient tool with excellent professional support. The final result depends more on the designer/builder of the website than on the tool used. The simple way of integrating self-written code, being able to add or change content as an owner, and the ability to easily connect to Zapier are no small advantages.

Because of these many advantages, we build our websites in Webflow as standard. Wordpress is also possible, if the client prefers it.
